I believe your space is your sanctuary. It's not just where you live, it's where you live. And all the spaces I have ever occupied, have changed with my evolving sense of self. The 11 year old girl who would re-arrange her room every week sometimes just because I needed "the most amount of dancing room" still treats her space and the things I keep around me with a sense of wonder, fun and awe.
I grew up working in my Dad's power tools and machinery business in Wollongong and always made furniture. I started Made By You in 2019 to bridge the gap between low-end (bad-for-the-environment) chipboard furniture and high-end (custom-made/costly-made) timber joinery and create a true hybrid; solid timber furniture (from the fastest-growing plantation timber in the world), but is designed to be customised and flat-pack delivered to your door.
Sustainable, affordable, real timber furniture that was easy to customise, online. As easy to assemble, just as it is to reassemble - so it can move with you (just in case you need more dancing room).

Located in Wollongong, on NSW's South Coast, we make all our designs in our workshop on site and send them right to your door - Australia wide!
We are, and always will be Australian made and owned and wouldn't want it any other way.

Our Unique System
You won't find anyone doing quite what we're doing - because we're taking the best parts of custom made and flat pack furniture and fusing them together.
Custom made, without the high price and long lead-time. Flat pack, but made from solid timber and no annoying dowel. We have a custom, clever system that's unique to us which makes it easy to make pieces for your modern, Australian home.
Our Timber
Plantation Grown Paulownia
Paulownia is strong, light weight and has beautiful character. But unlike hardwoods (that can take hundreds of years to grow), Paulownia only takes 3-10 years to reach maturity, which makes it more renewable. Paulownia is the fastest growing tree in the world and why environmentalists call it "The Tree of the Future".
We finish with Hardwax Oil made from natural ingredients. The finish is silky satin to the touch, kid and food safe.

Reusable Canvas Bag
Made By You furniture is delivered in 100% Organic Cotton GOTS certified canvas bags. Our bags are designed to roll up and used to transport your furniture for next time you move, repurposed around the house, or be returned to contribute to our circular economy.
SUSTAINABILITY
Planting More Trees
We have a no-forest supply chain at Made By You, exclusively using Plantation grown Paulownia Timber.
In addition to this, we give back what we take from the earth, x10 fold. That's why for every product purchased, we donate to Carbon Positive Australia to plant a tree in our customer's name. Carbon Positive Australia plant native trees to support Australia's natural ecosystems and wildlife.
